Music from the Hart respects your privacy. This policy explains, in plain language, what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and how we look after it. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Health information is sensitive. We only collect it with your consent and only when it is needed to provide our services. Please do not share personal or medical details in the website chat. Use the contact form, phone or email instead.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for marketing without your permission.
The chat on our website is an automated AI assistant. It can answer general questions about music therapy and our services. It cannot give medical advice and is not a substitute for speaking with the therapist.
Your chat messages are processed by Google's Gemini AI service to create a reply, and by our own automation server. Google may process this information outside Australia. Chat conversations are kept for up to 30 days so we can check the assistant is working properly, and are then deleted.
We only share personal information when it is needed, when you agree, or when the law requires it. We use some trusted service providers to run our website and business:
With your consent, we may also share information with the NDIA, your plan manager or support coordinator, or other people involved in your care.
Because some of these providers are overseas, your information may be stored or processed outside Australia. We choose providers that take reasonable steps to keep information secure.
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. Client records are stored securely and kept for as long as the law requires, then destroyed securely.
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it. Please contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time.
If you have a question or concern about privacy, please contact Sarah-Jayne Hart:
If you are not happy with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
